Yesterday the Carolina Hurricanes fired head coach Peter Laviolette and replaced him with former coach Paul Maurice. It was a move not surprised by some but the replacement by Paul Maurice was somewhat shocking. We took a web poll yesterday and 40 out of 64 votes didn’t think the firing of Peter Laviolette was a good idea and now only time will tell when the Canes will return back to its championship status.
NBC17 sports director Penn Holderness talked with Canes Season Ticket holder Patrick Clarke (@Clarkey96 on twitter) about the coaching change, what the community thinks about the new interim coach, the future of the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team and who may be the next coach after Paul Maurice second term as coach.
